Haight-Ashbury: The long-awaited remodel at Magnolia Pub & Brewery finally arrived yesterday, as the gastropub shuttered after dinner service. The hiatus will allow Magnolia to physically spruce up the joint—new bar, new paint job, etc.—and also from the food standpoint, where they are trying to become even more of a gastropub proper. The plan is to reopen next Wednesday, May 21st, and at which time a shiny new menu will be unveiled, complete with a "sausage program" and other various local sustainable organic farm-ophile delights. For more info on the happenings at Masonic and Haight, a lengthy letter from Magnolia owner Dave McLean can be had at the Haight Ashbury Beat.
