Eater Tracking: Renderings, a June Debut For Gitane

Union Square: You know we love us some good renderings, and the pretty, eclectic gal you see above is Gitane, currently slated for a June opening at 6 Claude Lane, right across the alley from sister resto Cafe Claude. The designer is Charles Doell of Mr. Important, who also happens to be responsible for the look of space's previous tenant, Blupointe. According to the releases, the space is meant to evoke the southern France/northern Spain/bold gypsy theme of the restaurant, as well as "three separate decades - the Euro-themed 50's, Hippy-Driven 60's and Big Bling 70's." We, for one, welcome the return of hippy bling to the table.
