Apparently, San Francisco's styrofoam ban is doing some good, despite the fact that less than half of the eateries have been checked and violating restaurants get a slap on the wrist: "In audits of 2,200 of The City's 4,500 restaurants since the ban began — with fast-food outlets among the first to be targeted — roughly 400 were caught using the contraband packaging ... 'Their customers quite frankly complain more than we do,' [Dept. of Environment's Jared] Blumenfeld said. 'They're like, 'Why is there still Styrofoam here?" [SFE]
