Meanwhile in Vallejo

When you're in Vallejo, apparently one way for restaurateurs to escape a lease dispute is to simply move to another state in an instant, leaving the poor landlord to run the place: "'[The restaurateur] approached me and said she wanted to break her lease and close the café,' [owner Nima Gabbay] said. 'She's already moved to Montana, and had a job lined up.'" The owner said he has been forced to run the cafe himself while he looks for a new tenant, hopefully a full-scale restaurant. Anyone want to open in a bankrupt city? Anyone? [VTH]
