EaterWire: Yotopia on 22nd, Plus a Restaurant Car Crash!

THE MISSION—Enjoy the nondescript facade at 3280 Mission 22nd (right across from Esperpento) while you can, because before you know it, it will morph into the neons and pastels of another frozen yogurt shop, by our count the first in the Mission. We mentioned its arrival in our Friday plywood report, and now we have a first look (above) and a name: Yotopia, which as far as froyo names go, is not in the top percentile. [EaterWire]

MARIN—In downtown San Rafael, a car crashed into Sol Food (yes, that Sol Food). From the MIJ: "Sol Food Puerto Rican cuisine, a popular downtown San Rafael restaurant, was damaged early Sunday after a vehicle involved in a collision at Third Street and Lincoln Avenue smashed into the front of the restaurant. The restaurant at 901 Lincoln Ave. was open for business on Monday. Joseph Montgomery, 27, of San Rafael, was driving a 1989 brown Toyota Camry that collided with a 1998 Volkswagen Passat in the intersection at about 12:20 a.m. Sunday. Montgomery was arrested and is being held on $50,000 bail on suspicion of felony drunk driving." There's a passive aggressive versus plain stupidly aggressive joke in here somewhere, maybe. Too soon?
