John Birdsall has three stars for the decidedly landlocked Walnut Creek Yacht Club, where Kevin Weinberg's menu is good enough to overcome the hokey regatta themes: "And, OK, the menu is written in the corny ahoy-matey language of the classic seafood house. Fish appear in a column labeled 'Dockside'; sides fall under a category called 'Extra Rigging.' A common shtick, but it's rare for a chowder shack to offer seafood as pristine as the stuff on Weinberg's menu ... even an unsatisfying dish can't mar the appeal of a restaurant that almost always gets the basics right."
