Behold the latest jewel in the increasingly-vast Michael Mina empire: Clock Bar. Positioned directly across the Westin lobby from its big sis, Clock Bar formally opened for business last night after much anticipation and plenty of media coverage. The Mina name alone probably is enough for a ticket to success, but for good measure they've thrown in a bartender legend in Marco Dionysius, a supercentral Union Square location, and of course, a ritzy Mina bar menu. The Rockwell Group handled the design, with the two glowing columns in the middle of the space being the focal points, though plenty of details are sprinkled throughout (i.e. the expensive curtains, fabricated from gold threads).
