Eater Inside: Swirl Culture

New, 2 comments

The icy gal you see here is none other than Swirl Culture, the frozen yogurt shop that has been over a year in the making. Much to the chagrin of some Telegraph Hill neighborhood militias, Swirl Culture—originally Honeydoo—opened this past Sunday on the corner of Grant and Green. In fact, the opening can be considered a victory of sorts for North Beach restaurants who have struggled to get approved from the city (cf. Red Mango, Vino Divino). But to the froyo: the location should play well, mainly because Swirl Culture is the only froyo show in pedestrian-heavy North Beach (for now). Long-term, it's a matter of how this trend plays out, but for now, after the fiasco it took to open, Swirl Culture is probably just happy to have arrived.
