Sign of the Times, Spotted: No Rice For You

North Beach: Not soon after new bread policies were suggested as a way for restaurants to cope with rising food costs, a tipster sent in the above shot of some indicative signage in a Columbus Avenue restaurant. It's nothing new that rice is now seen as a hot commodity worth rationing (even though experts say there's no real shortage here in America), but what we really want to know is if this restaurant is one of the eateries with three weeks' of rice lying in wait in the basement.
