James Freeman's once-little coffee operation has officially gone national, as Blue Bottle has made its Manhattan debut at Gramercy Tavern. To complement the gourmet beans regularly flown in from the Bay, the restaurant has also purchased a $12,000 handmade Italian espresso machine, and already the Times is calling the coffee a "breakthrough" and possibly the "the best espresso in New York."
