FiDi/Chinatown: While the Union Square Hilton welcomes Laurent Manrique and Urban Tavern this week, the other, lesser-known Hilton downtown has its own exciting renovation underway. The good news is that they've decided to cash in on the hotel bar and wine bar crazes. But the bad news is that they're combining a new wine bar (called Flight) with Tully's Coffee in the hotel lobby, which is curious in itself, but even more so when you consider that Seven-Fifty and its bar have sprawling real estate a mere 20 feet away (and from what we hear, not too many people go there). Chain store coffee by day, wine bar by night: what could possibly go wrong? ...Actually, maybe Starbucks should look into this.
