From the inbox: "I went to Maverick last night because it was on the heirloom tomato list. Only two dishes on the menu featured tomatoes. The first sounded like a standard and the second was a bland, whole wheat pasta with chopped tomatoes. Definitely could have made something more flavorful at home. I agree with the other commenter and was disappointed." As we start to sense a developing pattern, this might be a good time to politely suggest that this whole tomato frenzy is a bit much, even for San Francisco. We get it: they're heirlooms.
