EaterWire: Limon Rotisserie Open, Plus Updates From a Napa Winery and Balboa Cafe Mill Valley

All the day's notes go in EaterWire, so do feel free to drop your tidbits in the tip jar.

2008_08_limonsign.jpgTHE MISSION—At this very moment, Limon Rotisserie is open for business for the first time, right on schedule. We'll have more on the debut and the rest of the details on Monday, but know that after tonight, the restaurant says they'll be open for lunch and dinner both Saturday and Sunday. Let us know your thoughts if you stop by. 1001 South Van Ness Avenue, at 21st Street; (415) 821-2134; website [EaterWire]

WINE COUNTRY—Calistoga winery Castello di Amorosa named a new president, but we'd like to point you two things of note in the article: "'Georg Salzner is an exceptional person and we are proud to have him as our president,' Dario Sattui (formerly known as Darryl), the exotic winery's owner ... A spokesman for the company couldn't immediately identify the former president of Castello di Amorosa or explain what happened to that individual." So the owner changed his name to Dario from Darryl (yes, so much more Italian) and has no idea what happened to the predecessor. Mercy. [BizTimes]

MILL VALLEY—Coming off our Balboa Cafe mention in today's Plywood Report, a reader chimes in with a little more intel regarding a possible opening date: late September to early October is what one reliable source is hearing. More as it comes in... [EaterWire]
