40 entries were submitted, but only two local restaurants were named as the greenest of the green in all the Bay Area. The inclusion of one—FiDi salad specialist Mixt Greens—probably won't surprise you, but the second winner might: "Vineyards Inn, in Kenwood, uses only organic produce and meat, and grows most of its own vegetables. It has reduced its natural gas consumption for two years in a row, and has cut waste to a point where one 35-gallon residential bin is enough to hold all its nonrecyclable, noncompostable garbage."
