SANTA CLARA—Like it did with a similar ordinance in San Francisco, the CRA has sued Santa Clara because of menu labeling legislation: "The California Restaurant Association recently sued the county, trying to block June legislation that would require chain restaurants in unincorporated areas to include calorie counts on their menus. The county legislation, which does not apply to cities within the county, is slated to go into effect Sept. 1." [SJMN]
