POTRERO HILL—Currently in the works directly across the street from the California Culinary Academy is a new bistro, wine bar and retail marketplace. Right on Kansas Street, the space is a very sizable, almost cavernous one, and a full build out is well underway. Details are trickling in, but the team is (reportedly) a group of rookies, and the name on the liquor license is Horatius (see plywood), though that might just be a placeholder name. The anticipated opening is January 2009, but a peek inside reveals that the space has a long, long ways to go in the build-out. The betting gentleman would take the over on that January debut.
