Plywood Report: B's BBQ, Lers Ros, Crave, MORE!

New, 1 comment

Welcome back to the Plywood Report, your regular, all-encompassing chronicle of the next generation of restaurants and bars to grace our fair city. Notice something on your block? Let us know. Bonus points if you include photos.

1) Western Addition: Just when it looked like that long-overdue Texas BBQ project might be dead in the water on the corner of Divisadero and McAllister, we have word of action in the Western Addition. New signage has the place being called B's BBQ and boasting the best 'cue on this side of the Mississippi, but as a reader points out, it is a bit odd "that 'The Best BBQ' is advertising salads, sandwiches and burgers instead of ribs, brisket and chicken dont ya think?" [PLYWOOD]

2) Inner Sunset: The entire interior—and vermin haven—of what was once PJ's Oysterbed is reportedly in the midst of becoming another Fresca branch (though it's not yet finalized, last we heard), and an Irving Street tipster sends along the above photo. The entire place has been gutted, including that infamous seafood display case. [PLYWOOD]

3) Tenderloin: A tipster sends along word of a new Thai noodle joint at 730 Larkin Street, around Ellis. It's going to be called Lers Ros Thai Noodle; we're telling you: noodle joints are on the up-and-up. [PLYWOOD]

4) Russian Hill: Rounding out this edition of the report, we have an update from Crave at 2164 Polk Street, just across the street from its big sis Street. There's a permit application in the window for eight seats and four tables outside, and the interior is taking shape from the stripped room it was before. [PLYWOOD]
