The LA Times runs an odd piece on the apparent insanity that is the Berkeley Bowl, citing all kinds of ridiculousness, including incidents of "angry" Berkeley residents brawling in the store, avocados and bread being thrown, customer bans, granola being weaponized, and college professor thievery. But our favorite part? One Ryan Scott quote, immune from the bedlam: "'The produce section's like an orchestra ... The last time I was there, the cucumbers were just screaming at me. As a chef, it's often hard to get excited about food. But I get excited there.'" [LAT]
