1) The Embarcadero: Following what seems like a month of test runs (and the freebie five-star Yelp reviews to prove it), Gaston Acurio's La Mar Cebicheria Peruana finally debuts tonight. An outlined version of the menu is online, but opening night reservations are officially in the "5:30 or 9:30?" zone, but we're told you might still be able sneak a seat at the ceviche bar. 2) Golden Gate Park: As you probably know, the park was a madhouse this weekend for the Academy of Sciences. We discussed the two food projects—The Moss Room and Academy Cafe—plenty last week, so we'll refer you to the Eater Archives for more details on them. Both are now open for lunch, but don't forget that the Moss Room isn't scheduled open for its main event (dinner service) until the 7th. 3) Cow Hollow: We mentioned it in passing in this morning's Listage, but opening tomorrow is Nettie's Crab Shack (take a look at its Plywood Report for the full backstory). The old Palmetto space has been transformed by Zack/deVito into to a more airy venue with an open-air patio along Union Street. The menu, while nothing groundbreaking, is short, simple, moderate (only one item over $20) and fairly seafood-centric, with items like chowder, fish and chips, steamers, burgers, BBQ oysters, etc.. 2032 Union Street, between Buchanan and Webster; (415) 409-0300; website [EaterWire]
4) Ghirardelli Square: Truth be told, when we first laid eyes on the polished Crown & Crumpet last week, we instantly knew Daily Candy would be all over the newest eatery to grace Ghirardelli Square (sure enough). On one hand, it's a traditional tea salon with tea sandwiches and giant pink things everywhere; on the other hand, the place looks like a ten-year-old girl unleashed her dollhouse-loving id on a restaurant design. 5) East Bay: Downtown Hayward got a fancy new French bistro this weekend with the arrival of Bijou. The CoCo Times describes it thusly: "The kitchen certainly will serve the type of stuff that usually goes with [white tablecloths], with Parisian chef Christian Nam-Hee doling out dishes such as pan-seared foie gras and porkchop a l'orange. 6) Tenderloin: Finally, a tipster sends word of a pair of new Asian restaurants recently opened in the TL. On the Thai noodle side of things, plywood vet Lers Ros is now open for business. Just around the corner, Cafe Splash Restaurant (really, that's what the awning says) is serving Vietnamese food, including deep-fried frogs, which is the first selection listed in the entree section.
