All openings, big and small, get served up via The Dish. If we've missed something, please do send us your sightings.
1) Napa: Finally open up in the old Pizza Azzurro space on Second Street is Elements Restaurant & Enoteca. The Register penned a long, puffy preview of the restaurant back in May and it pretty much tells you everything you ever wanted to know, from chef Charles Weber's background to the "wall of wine," all reportedly to be available by the glass. Open nightly for dinner at 5pm. 1400 Second Street, Napa; (707) 224-4518; website [EaterWire]
2) Financial District: Pictured above and open for a week or so is Bangkok Express. It's a new Thai restaurant in the heart of the FiDi, and is probably nothing more or less than that, though early reviews have been tepid. But it's reviews like this that keep us coming back to Yelp: "They should change the restaurant name to Bangkok Slow Express ... This is just not the right way to do business expecially in the financial district." Expecially to Yelpers! 333 Bush Street, between Kearny and Montgomery; (415) 981-9333 [EaterWire]
3) Oakland: The wife and the sister of former A's player (and East Bay native) Bip Roberts have opened up A Soul Food Experience in Foothill Square. The 4000-square-foot still in the stages of soft opening, but is open all day, including an all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch buffet that is already the talk of the town. The menu includes rib and chicken dinners, black-eyed peas, cobbler and "other recipes that capture the culture and spirit of the black tradition." 10739 MacArthur Boulevard, near 106th Avenue; (510) 969-4126 [Oakland Trib]
