SOMA—Especially for times like these, the weekend will see a pair of massive openings. Up first, Phandemonium. We've tracked Charles Phan's Heaven's Dog since pre-plywood, and tonight, it finally makes its debut in the SoMa Grand. We'll take a look inside the Chinese joint next week, but for now, peruse the menu here, where you'll kindly note two things: 1) with the most expensive item at $15, it's priced for times like these and 2) there are Momofuku-esque pork buns. FIDI—Also hiring is another plywood regular, Joie de Vivre's Midi. From Craigslist: "We are planning for a middle of February 2009 hire date and a middle of March 2009 opening.
