Cow Hollow: About eight months after La Vinoteca debuted to scant crowds, Luisa Hanson has decided to pull the plug on her Union Street wine bar. But there's a bit of a twist ... a pinata-laden twist! She's going to reopen the place—next week, supposedly—as a "gourmet Mexican restaurant" called La Pinata Rica. It's a move fit for the economic times, at least in theory, and as a tipster points out, aside from Mamacita (update: and a few others) down on Chestnut, she only has to compete with the subpar Left at Albuquerque and take-out-only La Canasta up on Union. Then again, history doesn't exactly bode well, so we'll just have to wait and see.
