Last week, David Chang joked about the multitude of restaurants in San Francisco serving figs on a plate (with the exception of a "handful"). Now, per Food & Wine's Kate Krader, the SF Asia Society has actually canceled a Momofuku book signing here because that comment "irritated some participating cooks." More from Krader: "For his part, Chang calls it a misunderstanding that he wants to clear up. On the other hand: 'I'm never gonna open a place in San Francisco,' he says." All of which begs the question: lovely but oversensitive SF, what is wrong with you? [F&W via Eater NY]
