SOMA—On October 17, MoMA is holding a crazy food event called the Futurist Food Banquet wherein OPENrestaurant will revisit F. T. Marinetti's Futurist Cookbook from 1932, and the best part is that they are promising beef ice-cream cones, avocado cocktails, and flying panforte. [EaterWire]
UTAH—Remember how Spruce quietly opened up a sequel in Park City, Utah? Things look like they're going quite swimmingly in the Beehive State; Spruce 2.0 and Mark Sullivan's "daring menu" just got 3.5/4 stars from the Salt Lake Tribune. [SLT]
THE MISSION—The rumors about Rosamunde taking the Cafe Arguello space have been swirling since the liquor license applications went in, and today, Grubz gets word that Rosamunde will indeed open a second location with the same takeaway service and menu, but with a bar. The original Haight spot will remain untouched. [GS]
CHAINS—Burger King has announced a massive revamp that will overhaul all of its 12,000 worldwide locations. There will be myriad tweaks to the brand, but the best part of the announcement is when chairman/CEO John Chidsey describes the aesthetic changes: "I'd call it more contemporary, edgy, futuristic ... It feels so much more like an upscale restaurant." And, brace, there are "rotating red flame chandeliers" involved. [AP]
