When Restaurateurs Do Bad Things

New, 2 comments

2009_11_wharfshenanigans.jpgAccording to a new audit, a host of high-profile Fisherman's Wharf spots (Alioto's, Tarantino's and Fishermen's Grotto) have been pulling some major money shenanigans with the city, including pocketing $600K in parking revenue and charging $30Kfor a Christmas tree. More importantly, the revelation has prompted a "probe into whether the eateries pocketed millions of public dollars over more than two decades." The restaurants are calling the audit "flawed" and denying any evildoing. And also? There's a joke somewhere in here about $35 shrimp scampi robbery. [Chron]
