So Many Openings: The Republic, Nombe, Pera, MORE!

New, 2 comments

1) The Marina: Right on schedule, Bin38 spinoff will make its public debut tonight in the former Jones Roadhouse space on the corner of Lombard and Scott (Porsche not usually included ... probably). The Republic will have a local/sustainable menu, but the attention-grabber will probably be the substantial list of American craft beers. The best part? It already has four stars on Yelp ... "for optimism"! 3213 Scott Street, at Lombard; 415-533-0041; website [EaterWire]

2) The Mission: Also arriving tonight is Nombe. We shared the new izakaya's menu and most of the details surrounding the Sozai successor (late night street food window, lots of beer/sake, fried goodnesses) on Monday, so we'll just refer you to Eater Archives for further reading on Nombe. 2491 Mission Street, near 21st; 415-681-7150; website

3) Potrero Hill: In a quick turnaround, 18th Street's shuttered Eliza's space has been reborn as a Mediterranean-slanted (esp. Turkish and Greek) Pera. They're still waiting on the liquor license, but yesterday was their first day and the Mediterranean spot is doing both lunch and dinner. Open for lunch and dinner. 1457 18th Street, between Missouri and Connecticut; (415) 796-3812 [EaterWire]

4) Potrero Hill Bonus: SFist had a nice bit on Bento415, a new breakfast/lunch option that had its grand opening yesterday. In addition to Blue Bottle coffee, Bento415's regular menu currently offers four lunch boxes (plus specials): The Mission Bento (Latin), North Beach Bento (Italian), Chinatown Bento (Asian), and Haight Bento (Vegetarian). 300 De Haro Street, at 16th; 415-355-1269?; website [SFist]

5) Financial District: The Embarcadero Center got its first restaurant of the Korean persuasion this week when plywood vet Stone Korean Kitchen opened, as noted by the Lady of Hopstress. It's open from 11AM to 11PM. Four Embarcadero Center, Street Level, 415-839-4070; website [EaterWire]
