DeLessio Moving Into Macy's, Strange Pizzeria Stabbing

UNION SQUARE—Thanks to a tipster for noticing that DeLessio is opening a new branch down in the Macy's basement. By our count, it's the third location of the the gourmet market/bakery and hoped to be open in time for Black Friday. [EaterWire]

TENDERNOB—In a sad, strange story, an employee of Bellissimo Pizza was stabbed to death early this morning by a woman who first asked the victim for a glass of water. [CBS via SFist]

PRINT MEDIA—Everyone remains sad about Gourmet's passing, but sometimes, you gotta wonder if money was being spent wisely. Says Ruth Reichl on Conde Nast's prodigality: "...it was a whole new world for me. I had never been picked up in a Town Car or been given a clothing allowance. [Conde Nast owner] Si Newhouse truly believed in quality above all else." [Post-Dispatch via Eater National]
