Dining Dilemmas

2009_03_waiters.jpgA writer for the New York Times went to "well-known restaurant in the San Francisco Bay area" and somehow got accidentally undercharged for wine. However, since it was a disappointing meal, the diners felt justified for not correcting the restaurant's math mistake: "I suggested telling the waiter or leaving the difference in the tip. In the end, I decided that the person who is paying ultimately gets to decide how much to pay ... she opted to add about half the difference to the tip." Fair/unfair/evil? Discuss. [Bucks Blog]
