On Pine Street, a new eatery called Credo is quickly nearing, with a late 2009/early 2010 opening date in its sights. It's billing itself as an "urban trattoria," meaning ingredient-driven Italian peasant food. The plan is to offer both lunch and dinner, plus a full bar program, and we're told the whole credo/democratic ideals theme will run throughout the restaurant. The chef (Mario Maggi) is from Milan, the slick-looking environmental design is being done by Richardson Architects, and the owner is well-known local real estate mogul Clint Reilly, who also owns the building.
