Don Pisto's a Week Away, Leticia's Returns to the Castro

New, 8 comments

1) North Beach: The old El Raigon space is just about ready to be reborn as Don Pisto's. Due in about a week or so, Don Pisto's will specialize in Mexican street food made with local/sustainable ingredients. [PLYWOOD]

2) Union Square: Monumental burrito chain news in the Union Square area, where Chipotle will be opening a new outpost, only its third in the city. The latest location is on O'Farrell, just west off the corner of Powell. Stay tuned for the opening day free burrito giveaways that usually accompany Chipotle debuts. [PLYWOOD]

3) The Castro: A tipster sends word that the long-shuttered Leticia's is making a comeback in the neighborhood, but in a new location: the old Thai Corner spot on the corner of Market and Sanchez. Based on permitting, it appears that it's the same owners too. [PLYWOOD]

4) The Castro Bonus: A few blocks away, Cafe La Taza has claimed the restaurant space that last housed the short-lived Cafe Castro at 4230 18th Street . By our count, this would be the third SF location of the coffeeshop, with locations already in the Mission and Union Square. [PLYWOOD]
