Spot something new on your block for the Plywood Report? Do tell.
1) The Mission: Don't look know now, but in the abandoned Luisa Hanson project space near the corner of Guerrero and 22nd, the restaurant thought to be called Quba is actually named Tuba. Like the instrument! And they're very festive! [PLYWOOD]
2) Marin: From a tipster on the north side of the Golden Gate: "I was walking down 4th Street in downtown San Rafael and saw a liquor license for a new branch of Pizza Orgasmica. They are moving into a space (812 4th Street) that has housed a lot of pizza/beer joints like Rafters, Limelite Brewery, Willow Street, and Pacific Brewing Company over the years." [PLYWOOD]
3) SoMa: On the messy stretch of Sixth Street between Market and Mission, longtime plywood vet Passion Cafe seems to be nearing very quickly. The "upscale French bistro/cafe" already staffing up and hoping to open by the new year. The patio is in full bloom too. [POST-PLYWOOD]
4) Russian Hill: A tipster sends word that there's new signage at the old Indian restaurant that burned down a few years back on Polk Street, next door to Tuttimelon. It's going to be another Indian offering called Bombay Masala. [PLYWOOD]
