Hottest Chef Round 1, Cont.: Perello, Canales, Robertson, Clark

The first round of the Hottest Chef in the Bay Area contest continues. Yesterday, as expected, top seed William Werner easily dispatched of the early competition. Today, Melissa Perello of Frances faces off against Oliveto's Paul Canales, Tartine's Chad Robertson, and Foreign Cinema's John Clark.

And, to make a few things crystal clear for readers and commenters: there are 32 seeded chefs—men and women—total in this little competition (including Hubert Keller; no pitchforks needed), and as explained earlier, the first-round votes take place daily, four chefs at a time.
