About a month ago, Fox announced that it would be bringing Masterchef to America. Starring Gordon Ramsay and produced by the same people behind The Biggest Loser, the reality show/culinary competition is being billed as American Idol for amateur chefs. And now comes word—straight from the Fox TV people—that Masterchef will kick off the nationwide contestant search this coming January, hitting up ten cities throughout the month. The main rule for prospectives is that the chefs must be amateurs, meaning they can never have worked in a professional kitchen, though it's anybody's guess as to how that one will be enforced.
