Bottega, Michael Chiarello's glorious return to the kitchen, comes under the Bauer microscope this week, with glowing (and "lusty") results: "He could probably fill the restaurant on his celebrity alone - certainly in the tourist season, at least. However, it's the middle of winter and the place is still packed, so clearly this California native has a similar effect on locals ... Every dish on the extensive menu is thoughtfully executed and seems to come from a deep passion for the cuisine." The final grade for Chiarello's restaurant renaissance: an easy three stars. [Chron]
