Late yesterday, the owners of the Inner Mission Beer Parlor sent around the announcement that come April 1st, they will be changing the name of the 20th Street watering hole—which, go figure, dates back to 1891 (kinda; it was a "grocery saloon" then)—to Shotwell's. Says owner Tom Madonna: "...the name Inner Mission Beer Parlor was a mouthful. We wanted to honor the history of the place but felt like four words in our name was three too many, therefore a name change was in order.” [EaterWire, photo]
