Welcome back to the Plywood Report, your regular chronicle of the next generation of restaurants. Notice something on your block? Let us know. Bonus points and sourdough alligators if you include photos. Bread reptiles subject to availability.
1) The Mission: We've been keeping an eye on the upcoming hookah bar/lounge in the connected space to the left of the Pork Store Cafe for some time now, and from a peek inside it finally looks about ready to roll out any day now. Mission Local brings the word that it's going to be called the Morak Room. [POST-PLYWOOD]
2) Sausalito: Quoth a tipster: "Yesterday, I saw flyers taped to the side of the shuttered Gaylord's in Sausalito informing 'Coming Soon: Sally Stanford's Valhalla Inn.' The quirky flyers contain old photos (presumably of Sally Stanford who operated a brothel in the spot) smoking a cigarette." [PLYWOOD]
3) SoMa: Up next, Sweet & Sour Spectator passes along the news that the still-new Creamery on Fourth and Townsend will be opening a taqueria in the the adjacent space. A little further investigation on our part reveals that if all goes according to plan, said taqueria could be open in three months or so, and its working name (read: subject to change) is the Iron Cactus. [PLYWOOD]
4) Potrero Hill: Right across the street from the culinary school, we've covered Horatius before (here and here), but a Craiglist ad shows that the "Market Gallery and Bistro" is now hiring FOH staffers. The exterior plywood is down, a new facade has been revealed, and according to the same ad, an opening is now set for late April. [PLYWOOD]
