Plywood Report Mission Edition: Milk, Pal's, More!

New, 3 comments

1) 1152 Valencia Street (22nd/23rd): A brave soul is in the process of taking over the cursed space that last housed the short-lived Janitzi. The DBA is Milk, the new owner's name is on the liquor license application, and we're told the sale is in escrow. [PLYWOOD]

2) 581 Valencia Street (at 17th): Don't look now, but the former Yum Yum House space looks like it's just about ready to roll out in a new incarnation. Both the facade and interior (see above) have been completely redone, but the place is still without signage. Last we heard a fictitious name was filed for a burger joint, but that was back in summer '08. There's a soda fountain and a walk-up counter inside, so a casual/quick-service place is likely. Anyone? [POST-PLYWOOD]

3) 2751 24th Street (at Hampshire): Earlier this week, Mission Mission brought news of a new sandwich/salad joint called Pal's Take Away. It's going to be "tucked away" in Tony’s Market and will offer organic goodness and the like. [MM]

4) 2809 24th Street (at York): The delays continue to continue at the new Sushi Bistro (which is quickly becoming a plywood regular) but a tipster sends along the above sneak peek of some new bar stools that just got delivered, so things are still coming along. [PLYWOOD]
