The Bauer Buzzsaw makes its way eastward to Oakland's Sidebar, where things are still coming together for the Zax duo of Barbara Mulas and Mark Drazek: "Sidebar is a great addition to the area, and has the potential to get better. For now it seems like the owners are still trying to feel their way, creating something that's familiar but rises above the other cafes in the neighborhood." Final grade: two stars, despite the signature goat cheese souffle being worth a trip by itself. [Chron]
