Save Medjool Campaign Sweeps Town; Do You Care?

New, 10 comments

The Mission: The latest chapter in the Medjool illegal rooftop controversy unfolded yesterday, when owner Gus Murad's request for review was rejected, mostly because the roof is illegal. Medjool says that closing the rooftop bar would essentially put the entire venue out of business, a claim that may or may not be true. Meanwhile, the Save Medjool campaign is in full effect, with myriad signs littering surrounding storefronts and taquerias (small sampling above). Of course, the signs are obviously absent at Foreign Cinema, Bruno's, Cha Cha Cha, etc. For what it's worth, the roof is open today.

PS: We'd be remiss if we didn't point out where SaveMedjool.com takes you.
