EaterWire: Lynch Aboard at Quince, Showdogs Update!

New, 1 comment

JACKSON SQUARE— Last we heard from the Tusks, the bigger Quince and its casual neighbor Cotogna were slated for a spring arrival, and since that's obviously passed, late summer/early fall is now the aim for the new duo, at which point they'll shutter the Pac Heights original. Perhaps even more notable: Italian vino hotshot David Lynch has signed on as wine director; he was previously GM and WD at NYC's Babbo and then the John Dory. [EaterWire]

UNION SQUARE—In other spinoff news, tomorrow's Scoop reveals that the aforementioned Showdogs is backed by Gayle Pirie and John Clark, the folks behind Foreign Cinema. [Scoop]

THE MISSION—Next Monday is the big birthday celebration for the Tamale Lady. As in years past, it will be at Zeitgeist, and there's even going be a Tamale Lady documentary involved. Twitter, too. [LS]

SANTANA ROW—Roland Passot—or, as the website describes him, "renowned French master chef" Roland Passot—has set a date for his latest, LB Steak down in the South Bay. The "American steakhouse with a French twist" is slated to open next Tuesday. [SJMN]

CHINATOWN—The new manager of the Chinatown Night Market on Friday by the Chinatown Neighborhood Association is a notorious (ex-) gangster who was indicted on racketeering charges for "alleged involvement in everything from underage prostitution to the international heroin trade." What could possibly go wrong? [Chron]
