Welcome back to the Plywood Report, your regular, all-encompassing chronicle of the next generation of restaurants and bars to grace our fair city. Notice something new on your block? Let us know. Bonus points and July fog for including photos.
1) Noe Valley: The rebirth is underway at Deep Sushi, which is freshly behind paper. It's a group of owners—some new, some from Deep Sushi. The interior has been freshened up (painted, etc.), it's going to be another sushi place (no word on whether they are keeping the name though), and the ETA is September. [PLYWOOD]
2) The Marina: To file away under the "Thank God" category, the Bin38 guys have gutted the terrible interior of Jones, the hokey bar/restaurant that shuttered a few weeks back to make room for Bin38's new project with the working name of Scott Street Bar & Grill. [PLYWOOD]
3) Hayes Valley: Espetus is trying to take over the vacant space directly next door. Will the expansion entail simply an extended dining area, or will Espetus try something else, like a new lounge area? [PRE-PLYWOOD]
4) Glen Park: A tipster sends along a shot of the state of affairs at Manzoni, the Italian restaurant that has been in the works forever in Glen Park. Work is back in full swing at this point, but the interior is still pretty raw, according to the eyewitness account. [PLYWOOD]
