The Marina: While the (temporarily) shuttered PlumpJack Cafe sits quietly on Fillmore Street, there's action directly next door. In the works is a second location of Kasa Indian Eatery, the Castro's sleek Indian joint. Kasa recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, and now they've put in a conditional-use request to bring their signature thalis and kati rolls to the north side of town. It obviously still needs to be approved, but assuming all goes to plan, Kasa 2.0 would employ a similar formula that brought success to the Castro original, though a more extensive menu is a possibility, as are more beer/wine options. Ideally, the Marina branch is hoped open in late 2009/early 2010.
