The Shutter: Cossu Goes Down After 12 Months

Jennifer Yin, 6/20/2008

Russian Hill: Sad news from Broadway and Polk, where Cossu has shuttered only a year after it revamped. The closure marks the latest in a string of bad luck for Cossu (originally Pasha), which saw a fire next door take it out in late 2007. Even though Pasha survived in the location for 30 years, the owners took the fire as an opportunity to tweak the concept. Upon reopening as Cossu—on Friday the 13th, no less—the Moroccan fusion restaurant unfortunately never quite caught on, and more recently, Tajine's arrival up the street probably didn't help things either.
