The Embarcadero: Following in the footsteps of Aqua, another downtown heavyhitter has decided to forgo lunch hours completely. As of this week, the 18-month-old Epic Roasthouse has abandoned lunch, instead opting to leave daytime service to Waterbar next door. In the last few weeks, the lavish meatery had slowly been inching toward this conclusion, previously limiting lunch to the second half of the week (the $46 NY strip is probably not selling as well nowadays). Whether unrelated or not, the Epic news comes a few months after Pat Kuleto sold a controlling interest in his estate and then admitted that he's been "caught by the economy."
