EaterWire: Potrero's Sunflower Opens, Bocanova Nears

New, 2 comments

POTRERO HILL—A bevy of openings is slated for next week, but tomorrow will see the debut of Sunflower in the old Baraka space in Potrero Hill. It's the first offshoot of the Vietnamese original in the Mission. 288 Connecticut Street, at 18th St; website [EaterWire]

OAKLAND—MarketBar's Rick Hackett has set a date—September 1st—for his Jack London Square project, Bocanova. It's going to incorporate South American, Central American, Mexican, and North American food. Also: seven "contemporary tribal area rugs" hand-woven for the restaurant. [SFW]

NAPA—The fate of The Trainwreck Called Copia is still entwined in the courts, but at least one coalition wants to "preserve" the concept: "A Napa group, the Coalition to Preserve Copia, is interested in acquiring the property and reopening it as a wine-oriented conference and visitor center." What could possibly go wrong? [PD]
