The Dish: Sloane, Starbelly, Avellino, Kung Fu Tacos

1) SoMa: The striking lady pictured above is the brand new Sloane, currently hiding behind some nondescript covers on Mission Street. In the old Duplex space, the new bar/lounge is open Thursday through Saturday, with happy hour from 5 to 9pm. In describing the vibe, one Yelper "felt like [she] was in a Puff Daddy party in LA or Las Vegas." So it must be good. 1525 Mission Street, between 11th and 12th; (415) 621-7007; website [EaterWire]

2) The Castro: Today, Starbelly will finally give the Castro a new, high-profile restaurant. As previously stated, it's an eatery from the folks behind Beretta—Deborah Blum and Adriano Paganini—but chef Adam Timney will focus on what he's calling "California comfort cuisine" (menus online). There's no hard liquor, so the bar program will focus on vino, beer and creative cocktails. 3583 16th Street, near Market; (415) 252-7500; website [EaterWire]

3) The Presidio: The old Curbside location on the edge of the Presidio gets reborn tonight as the latest thin crust pizza place to hit town, Pizzeria Avellino. 2769 Lombard Street, at Lyon; (415) 776-2500; website [EaterWire]

4) Financial District: Via 7x7 comes the news that there's another new fusion taco truck in town. Not entirely in the Kogi's Korean taco tradition, this one is called Kung Fu Tacos and serves up Chinese tacos like Asian asada, roast duck and BBQ pork. Parked at Sansome and Jackson; website [EaterWire]
