Teary Shutter Signage: Mikaku Bids Adieu After 22 Years

Union Square: Despite 22 years on Grant Avenue, Mikaku's last day will be this upcoming Friday. According to the people there, the new buyers are a Korean family, though word on the street is that they might keep it a Japanese joint. Getting back to the shuttering Mikaku, the workman-like Union Square spot has been a lunchtime staple on Union Square for decades, but the chef/owner has no plans to relocate, much to the chagrin of its dear customers. Sweets to the sweet, farewell.
