ShutterWire: Berkeley's Eccolo Closing, Chris Lee to SF?

Berkeley: Bauerlicious breaks the news that Chez Panisse spinoff Eccolo will be shuttering come the second half of August. Based on Bauer's bit, it looks like the official party line will be the crappy economy, but according to our sources, that was just one of several reasons for the shuttering. The next shoe to drop will be the whereabouts of chef/owner Christopher Lee, who manned the kitchens at Chez Panisse for 16 years before opening Eccolo a few years back. The initial word from the always-churning rumor mill has Lee crossing the Bay to open his own butcher shop in San Francisco, but nothing is set yet.
