The rare slice in time when a report of a closure coincides with news of the space's future resident? It's something called Shutterwood; this is one of those times.
Inner Sunset: Following a Sunday finale, the Ninth and Irving branch of Adriano Paganini's Pasta Pomodoro empire (chain) will meet the shutter. The Pasta Pomodoro location——or is it just Pomodoro these days?—is staying mum on the reason ($), but the space's next inhabitant should prompt plenty of discussion fodder for the neighborhood. Taking its place will be Beautifull, the unfortunately-spelled Laurel Heights quick service health food concept (mini-review here) whose expansion news provoked quite the heated discussion a few weeks back. Along with third outpost over in the Castro, the Irving Street Beautifull is expected to be open by the end of the year; hotshot architect Cass Calder Smith designed the California Street location, but no word yet on whether he's involved here too. What say you, Sunseteers? An upgrade over Pasta P?
