Two Is a Trend: American Cupcake Coming to Union

Cow Hollow: Despite the bubble prognosis of some, the national cupcake fever of years past finally seems to be surfacing—or maybe resurfacing?—in our fair city (and that's not even counting the incumbent cupcakeries and their new mobile spawn). Last week, news broke of Mission Minis, and now American Cupcake has claimed the Union Street space next door to La Boulange, which was last seen as the late Joji's but has since been completely gutted. But who knew that the city's two enemy neighborhoods—the Marina and the Mission—could be so similar and would find common ground over something as simple as a small cake trend?
